A Brief History of Rotary Club Shillong Heritage. Rotary Club Shillong Heritage was chartered on the 12th of August 2019 during the District Governorship of Rtn. Dr Debashish Das with a strength of 33 members from various classifications with our charter President being Rtn. Gideon Kharmawphlang, IAS followed by Rtn Dr Mrinal Barthakur, Rtn. Sandeep Das,Rtn, Dr. Barnali Bhuyan, Rtn. Vishal Amarnani and Rtn. Vikash Chokhani. Of the present 34 members of our club we are proud to declare that 15 are PHFs and 8 are MPHFs Each year every club President steers the club activities with the Rotary international Motto of “ Service above Self”. Our activities include Protection of the Environment, Maternal and Child health, Basic Education and Literacy, Water and Sanitation, Disease Prevention and Treatment , Youth service, Rotary foundation and many more. In the last 6 years as flag bearers of Rotary International we have highlighted Rotary’s Public image with various projects such as:- 1.Adoption 2 schools under the Happy School Project, 2. Installation of Solar lights in various locations, 3. Building water storage tanks / providing clean drinking water facilities 4. Organizing Health camps / blood donation camps 5. Tree plantation programs/ Environmental awareness programs 6. On the social service sector dedication of a Hearse to the people of Shillong. Besides the above activities and in order to develop a bonding among the members and their families we observe and celebrate all the National days and festivals in a befitting manner. Our club members actively participate in District activities and conferences too. Being a young club with vibrant members we are proud to win various awards from the District as a recognition of the hard work and dedication which have been put in by our members.
